It took me years to understand that this is natural and normal & nothing to be ashamed of. The beauty industry tries to sell us a bunch of alleged “cures”, making us think that there’s something inherently wrong with our bodies that needs fixing. The truth is: nothing is wrong with our bodies. Most women have stretch marks - some men have them, too. We all think that other people care, but the truth is: they don’t. Nobody cares except us. We are the ones stressing ourselves out about something so inconsequential, restricting ourselves, forcing ourselves into another diet or a strict exercising routine, thinking it will make them go away. News flash: it won’t. No amount of exercise or calorie deficit will make stretch marks disappear. When we realize they’re here to stay, we get insecure, start hating our bodies instead of learning to accept and love our bodies just the way they are.

You’ve probably been so busy hating your stretch marks that you didn’t realize how beautiful they actually are. Like the stripes of a tiger or a cool tattoo. They’re a part of us, and they are beautiful 🤍
